Sebastian Kruger's show in London

I was hugely fortunate to attend a private viewing evening of Sebastian Kruger's work at a gallery in Mayfair on Tuesday this week.

Wow - seeing his paintings up close and personal was amazing, I was knocked back by the sheer size of a few of them, but the quality was incredible. Personal favourites would have to be the Johnny Cash 'evil eye' painting and the Steve McQueen picture. I was seriously tempted to buy a gicleƩ print of that one but as a swift divorce would have been the result I decided against!

It was great to meet the man himself although all I managed was a brief "hi, nice to meet you!". Also there causing general mayhem was Ronnie Wood who lived up to his rock n' roll image perfectly.

There are more details on Kruger's Exhibition blog here:

...along with a picture of me, sticking out like a sore thumb with my 'pint of guiness' look :)

Was also very fortunate to get a signed calendar which now hangs behind me - amazing!

The Four Horsemen... for real

This is a two hour discussion between the four gentlemen who I caricatured recently, as I am a huge admirer of each one of them. Christopher Hitchens, Daniel Dennett, Richard Dawkins and Sam Harris have all written books about and have been very active in debating religion and atheism in recent years. I would invite anyone with an interest or view on those matters, whether they agree with the writings of these four or not, to watch this fascinating discussion.

Self portrait

This was fun, I've never done a self portrait before. Yes, it is a caricature :)

KT Tunstall

So then I thought, why not do another wonky-faced warbler? So I did KT Tunstall:

Thom Yorke

There's a new Radiohead album out now, which inspired me to do a pic of the wonky-faced warbler Thom Yorke:

Heroes

I absolutely love this TV show - had to do some sketches of some of the characters! Here's Nathan Petrelli and the skull-chopping Sylar...

Two of the Four...

...the Four Horsemen of the Anti-Apocalypse (or the Four Musketeers is you prefer) that is! Yes, I am a godless heathen. Sorry 'bout that. Here we have Richard Dawkins and Christopher Hitchens, the other two (Sam Harris and Daniel Dennett) will be done soon.

Time flies...

Must post more often! Got a fair bit on the go at the mo - doing a range of greetings card designs of various types for a new company, got a few more caricatures that are nearly finished which I'll post soon also.

I did change the Kylie pic a fair bit so here's something to look at for the time being...

Robbie...and Kylie

Finished off the Robbie Williams pic, and to compliment it I've done one of teeny-tiny Kylie Minogue in full 'Showgirl' outfit. Remind me never to paint anyone wearing feathers and jewellery like that EVER AGAIN...:)

Robbie

Really pleased with how this pretty quick painting came out, I will go back to it and finish it off soon. Very happy with the expression I got here and the colours look good too.

Zhang Ziyi

Or is it Ziyi Zhang? I forget, sorry! Another beautiful lady, yes... not the most interesting of caricatures admittedly but this time I went all out for detail, I might pick out a few of them and post them later. The full image is 3307x4939 pixels and is packed with detail, as much as I could do anyway!

Hot Fuzz!

I love these guys, Shaun Of The Dead was fantastic and I can't wait to see Hot Fuzz! This is for sale on my website now.

Commissons!

Glad to say I've had a few commissions to do recently which is great. Here are the last two I've done:

I've got two more to get going on now also and once they are done I'll be thinking about using them to make a flyer to promote myself as a 'caricature from photos' type dood... excellent!
